I’m scared. I don’t know where some of my friends are, whether they’re safe or not. I know a lot of them have lost their houses, and I know that people have lost their lives. My cousins dog drowned in the floods at toowoomba. But you know what makes it so much worse? Seeing hate on Tumblr, saying that people ‘deserve this’. I’ve never been so disgusted in my life, I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. As I type this, the flood waters are up to the stairs on our porch, and we don’t know whether we will evacuate tonight or tomorrow. They’re dark and murky like a monster, and we haven’t even seen the worst of it. I’m praying for tomorrow at 4am, that everything will be okay. I’m praying for everyone else that lives in Brisbane, even though I’m barely religious. I hope all of you guys are okay, and please, stop the hate, it’s the last thing anyone needs right now. - abby cest
